Annette Funicello was 13 years old when she was spotted by studio head Walt Disney dancing in an amateur production of Swan Lake in Fullerton California. Funicello was not a candidate for the Mickey Mouse Club and joined late into the first season of the show, much to the dislike by their Mickey Mouse Club peers. Disney did the right thing in making the decision as Funicello soon became the major character on The Mickey Mouse Club. Also, she had an original adventure tale titled Adventures in Dairyland. Funicello had to start recording records in order to increase her fame ability. Funicello eventually became accustomed to recording and enjoyed working together with Camerata who is one of the very few arrangers in their 40s who were aware of the basic principles of the early rock. Funicello played as a character in Beach Party the first of five extremely popular film about beach parties, typically featuring Frankie Avalon although produced by AIP and the scripts of all of them were read out and accepted by Walt Disney in order to ensure that Annette's image was kept clean and squeaky clean.
